Walton Anderson

March 19, 1940 — June 2, 2025

Lynden

It is with great sadness that we welcome you to join us in remembering the life of Ney Walton Anderson, age 85, of Lynden, a brother, father, grandpa and friend. Dad passed away at his home Monday morning June 2, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. Dad was a fighter as we never thought 10 years ago when he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma that we would be here today. Walton was preceded in death by his parents William Robert and Patricia (Watson) Anderson and his wife Jeanette Ann Anderson. He is survived by his brother Bill Anderson; son Tony & Teresa Anderson; grandson Chris Anderson, granddaughter Alex & David Anderson, Tommie & Melissa Taylor, Cassidy & Tylor Blackwelder; greatgrandchildren Olive Aleeah and Landen. Those who knew my dad knew that he was never complete after the passing of my mom Jeanette after almost 60 years of marriage. Jeanette was the glue that allowed Walton to be who he was. After getting married Walton finished his Degree in History at PUC while working at the Pacific Press. Later moving to Vancouver Island where he worked as a Librarian / Cataloger at University of Victoria, this was the stepping stone to his working at in the same capacity at Western Washington University for over 30 years. Walton was also known for being a car nut and was proud of the fact that he was an honorary member of the Packard Society. His love for music that unfortunately led to many mornings of listening to opera and classical music on the way to school. Walton wore many hats in the Church to include church board, school board, choir director, and more, Dad was known for inviting strangers home for Sabbath dinner as mom magically made hot food and somehow always having enough. Dad loved to talk about mom, the trips they took, opening their home to the young people on Friday nights, Sabbath bike rides and hikes especially Table Mountain (now artist point ). Over the past 3 ½ years Dad never missed a day not talking about Mom as it’s hard even now to think about one without the other, thankfully we have a promise in Jesus Christ to be together again. A memorial service will be held 2:30 PM, Sabbath day, June 28, 2025 at the Bellingham Seventh-day Adventist Church, 5321 Waschke Road.
