Vivian C. (McCabe) Felmley, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 15, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Vivian was formerly of Bellingham.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Felmley in 1999, her parents and her eight siblings.

 

She was born on March 20, 1926 in Joville Saskatechewan, Canada now called Lisiex to George (Bud) Francis McCabe and Clara (Heagy) McCabe.  Her parents were American citizens but moved up to Canada for work. She was number 5 of 9 children (Florence, Buster, Isabelle, Evy, Vivian, Shirley, Kenny, Janet and David.).  She went to several schools in Canada and subsequently graduated from Glasgow High School in Glasgow, Montana.  She moved to Bellingham when she was 19 where she met and married Bob Felmley.

 

She and Bob married on July 17, 1948, They had three children, Drew Robert Felmley (Becky) of Ferndale WA , Cathy Vivian (Felmley) Hildner (LeRoy) of Las Vegas NV,  and Steven Michael Felmley. (Nancy) of Bellingham, WA.

Vivian had four grandchildren, Stephanie (Felmley) Harden  (Matt), Monica Felmley, Kyle Felmley  (Karen), Kevin Hildner (Amberlee)

She had 16 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way in the Fall.

Eliza (Johnny), Bjorn, Ava, Liam (+a little sister coming in Sept.), Marcus, Ingrid, Mason, Gunnar, Hudson, Derek, Luke, Weston, Jocelyn, Silas, Travis (+1 coming in Oct.), and Xavier

 

Bob & Vivian retired from the “Felmley Plumbing” business in 1963 and moved to Malott, Washington.

 

Vivian was involved in various activities:

.   Member of the Rome Grange in Whatcom County, and the Malott Grange in Okanogan County. 
She held several positions:  Lecturer & Secretary. Carried flag into the meetings with another man.  WA State Deputy, for conventions, and was a special deputy for Washington State with Master Bob Joy and Bob Felmley.  Also the Pamona Grange – Chaplin  (over all the County Granges).

.   Member of the Bellingham Covenant Church, Okanagan Baptist Church

.   Docet at Hovander Park – women in 1980’s

.   Gardening, Horse back riding, hunting and fishing, camping & traveling, knitting and card games – she was quite the card shark

.   She “loved” to dance especially the jitter bug.  She got to do the jitter bug one last time in her mid-80’s at her grandson Kevin’s wedding reception.  She was thrilled there was someone there to jitterbug with her.

 

Vivian will be greatly missed by family and friends.  But we know she is with her beloved husband Bob and dancing an Irish Jig!  We love you Mom, until we meet again when it’s our turn to join you in Heaven.
