Virginia Mae (Nickel) Eagleton, age 97, of Bellingham was born June 28, 1924 in Coffeyville, Kansas to parents Frank and Pearl (Cornett) Nickel. She was the 11th out of 14 children, 7 boys and 7 girls. She married Cleatis Arnold in 1940 and had daughter Sue. Virginia married Willis Warwick in 1948 and had daughter’s Nancy, twins Linda and Brenda and son Willy Warwick. She married Roy Eagleton in 1977. Virginia is also survived by her grandchildren, Kari Tissandier (Gary), Breyana Oliver (Kenny), Brenton Brookings, Bristin Scharf (Eric), Kashara Ward (Eddie), Kiawna Prak (Som) and Kameron Ketcham; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Esther Rodden and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husbands, a son in law Larry and a grandson Bradly Hurst, and her son Willy in 2015. Virginia was a hard worker getting jobs in Hospitals as a Nurses Aid. When she settled in Bellingham WA, she got a job at St. Joseph’s Hospital and was there 20 years, later she went to work for Costco and was there 20 years. She had to retire at 89 to have a heart valve surgery. Virginia was always on the go, she loved to shop and to travel. She was also very involved in her church, Calvary Temple, now Life Church. She had the gift of Hospitality and loved to entertain her many friends. Virginia was also known as the pickle lady, she canned the best pickles that also won 1st place at the Lynden Fair a couple of times. Her Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022, 2:00 PM at Life Church 747 Marine Dr., Bellingham, 98225. With a reception to follow.
