Tracy Jean Marcelli

We are sharing with great sadness the passing of Tracy Jean Marcelli, age 61, Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the Whatcom Hospice House after her courageous battle with Cancer. Her life journey began June 11, 1960 in Bellingham, Washington born to parents Marvin and Marilyn Jean (Gettle) Oiness. Tracy attended Happy Valley Grade School, Fairhaven Middle School and graduated from Sehome High School where she excelled on the Sehome Gymnastic Team. She went on to attend Bellingham Technical School to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her first employment was at Mt. Baker Assisted Living where she took special time caring for her grandmother Helen Gettle. Tracy was a “people person”, a spontaneous smile and had a tender heart toward all with a compassionate spirit.   Always willing to help others that had a need for encouragement.  Tracy loved the outdoors, rain or shine, trail walking, camping, the beaches or a warm fire to sit around and tell stories and reflect on memories.  In December 2020 she rededicated her life to the Lord Jesus Christ.  Preceding her in death where her, Grandparents Ted and Helen Gettle, father Marv Oiness, brother Dave Oiness, stepbrothers John Rasmussen, Rich Rasmussen, Todd Rasmussen, step dads Don Apeland and Jerry “Papa” Rasmussen.  She leaves behind her mother Marilyn Rasmussen, her beloved son Sean Marcelli, grandsons Sebastian and Sammy Marcelli, previous husband Phil Marcelli, also a dear friend and many aunts, uncles, sister-in-laws Karen Oiness and Jolyne Marcelli and loved Jeff and Bri Rasmussen and their family.  A grateful thank you to her Hospice nurse Jen who became very close to the family, and thanks to the entire staff at the Whatcom Hospice House for their tender loving care that was given to Tracy.  We all shall miss her but know she is at her new home in Heaven.

A graveside service will be held Friday, October 29, 2021, 2:30 P.M. at Bayview Cemetery in Bellingham, WA.
