Theodore "Ted" Lester Minaker

Theodore "Ted" Lester Minaker, age 74, of Everson passed away at his home on Sunday, November 26, 2017. Ted was born to Eston and Wilma Minaker in Sumas, WA on March 31, 1943. He married the love of his life Cathy Hanowell in Sumas, WA on July 15, 1965.  Ted served in the U.S. Army, worked at Georgia Pacific, did odd jobs and worked as a Long-Haul Truck Driver.  He was found saying that he was a “paid tourist” and loved travelling throughout the United States and Canada seeing beautiful places and meeting wonderful people.  Ted enjoyed visiting with others and telling stories and is missed very much from those of us who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cathy; children, Brent and Tracie(Vinet); 7 grandchildren, Trent, Jarod, Jaymee, Jessika, Megan, Brandon and Candice; 7 great grandchildren, McKenzie, Alexis, Karmen, Alonzo, Gabriel, Adrian and Dimas; his siblings, Ileta, Ralph, Janice and Joyce and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service with Military Honors will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Glen Echo Community Center, 7694 Goodwin Road, Everson, WA 98247 with Pastor Jeff Karber officiating. Private family graveside service Nooksack Cemetery.  Family suggests memorial donations in Ted’s name be made to Hospice of Whatcom County.
