Swietze Vander Meulen

Swietze Vander Meulen, age 74, of Sumas passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham. He was born August 17, 1944 in Artesia, California to parents Ralph and Etta (Keuning) Vander Meulen. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Pete and Andrew Vander Meulen and his sister Alyce Yonkman.  Swietze is survived by his wife of 51 years Cheri; children, Ralph Vander Meulen of Zillah, Amy and husband Jake De Hoog of Idaho, Jon Vander Meulen and partner Kim Stolz of Seattle and Leah Vander Meulen; His grandchildren, Cecilee and Travis Cochren, Cole, Ryan, Ashley, Paige, Preston and Mia Vander Meulen, Raquel Nicole and Jordan De Hoog; twin brother Ted and his wife Delores Vander Meulen other siblings, Bertha and Lawrence Silvis, Gert Stuit, Henry and Kathy Vander Meulen, Betty and John Hokesbergen and Edna and Bob Vander Hoek and numerous nieces nephews and other relatives. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Protestant Reformed Church, 317 N. Park St., Lynden, WA 98264 with Rev. Stephan Regnerus officiating. Private family graveside service at Sumas Cemetery.
