Ramona Roberts

June 26, 1936 — December 6, 2023

Bellingham

Ramona Roberts, age 87, passed away December 6, 2023.

Mona was born to Bernice and Asa Corbin on June 26, 1936, in Kalispell, Montana. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, in 1954, and upon graduation started working in a law office in Tacoma. She married her childhood sweetheart Harold (Hal) Roberts on December 29, 1956, in Tacoma. They traveled to Texas, Oklahoma and Arizona, while Hal was in the Air Force. Afterwards, in 1959, they settled in Bellingham, where Hal returned to Western to finish his degree in education; and Mona worked for attorneys. She worked for attorney Ernie Bentley for 39 years before her retirement in 2006.

Mona was preceded in death by her mother and father and four sisters, Francis, Marie, Loretta, and Viola. She is survived by her husband, Hal, And daughters Leanne (Frank) Rivas of Marysville, WA, and Karin (Greg) Ridgway of Eatonville, WA; grandchildren Taylor (Matt) Jones, Taitum Ridgway, and Blake (Olivia) Ridgway; step-grandchildren Ryan (Suzi) Rivas and Elisha (Joel) Casparek, and great grandchildren Samantha Rivas, Ryan Rivas, and Thomas Casparek. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Mona wrote the previous paragraphs for us years ago; proof that she was incredibly organized and thoughtful!

Mona will be missed by many life-long friends who experienced her kind and giving spirit, sense of humor and warm smile. Mona enjoyed quilting, and sewed many sweatshirts for her nieces and nephews, grandchildren, and friends of anyone she knew. She gave of herself abundantly. She also loved taking photos of people, especially when groups were gathered for any and all occasions. Mona gained the nickname "Legal Eagle" by family members and others she helped with her vast knowledge of the law. We will miss her bright cheerful attitude and infectious laugh, as well as that impish grin she would get when scheming with friends.
