Sue Lindsay

May 16, 1943 — September 25, 2025

Bellingham, WA

I am blessed and truly grateful…I had a great life. I was born in 1943, raised by hard working and loving parents (Bill and Marion), blessed with 3 great siblings (Roger/Nancy, Jeff/Marcia and Mary), 2 wonderful children (Lisa/Kevin and David/Jessica), 2 amazing partners in life (husband Cal Lindsay and partner Chris Chriswell), and 4 spectacular grandsons (Reece, Colin, Grant and Cooper). I was also blessed to be a stepmom to Cheri, Cathy and Scott Lindsay who have awesome kids and grandkids of their own. I was lucky to have my sister Mary, also my good friend, live nearby for many years…she is very special to me, and I appreciate her so much. Throughout my life, I gained so many good & best friends, too many to ever count (they know who they are – I love you all!). I enjoyed my school years (especially my lifelong friends from Aberdeen), Wetherwax High (Peppiest Girl), Grays Harbor CC & WWU, marriage to Cal (1965-1988), partnership with Chris (and pool friends), work as a lifeguard, teacher, Realtor and so much more (I even sold Tupperware!). I loved living in a variety of places – the Wishkah river, lake cabin, Mt. Baker ski chalet which we built, Birch Bay beach cabin, hobby farm, historic and Bellingham Bay homes….each place was truly filled with love, joy, some pain, and a lot of laughter. Being a daughter, wife, sister, partner, friend and mother is wonderful. But the thing I truly loved most in this life, is being a Grandma! I was lucky enough to help raise and care for my four amazing grandsons, who all live near me and I am so grateful to be their grandma now and forever! They are each unique young men, kind, helpful, intelligent and caring people, perhaps thanks to my influence and genes?!?

I have been lucky to have had many adventures, homes, classic cars, vacations, fun times, loving pets, travel, snow and waterski days, boating trips, laughs, girls trips, parties, watching kids sporting events, family dinners, friend breakfasts, water aerobics (aka: splashing and talking), car rides – truly a full and rich life. I cannot find the words to adequately describe my feelings when I look at my family and especially my four grandsons, who I love more than life itself. I have had the best possible and amazing caregivers in my home, who did everything to make the last years of my life the best they could be, and I am eternally grateful to all of them. My home has brought me so much joy and life, especially my grand view of Bellingham Bay and the San Juan Islands. Even having Parkinsons for 17 years (which is no fun, and I don’t recommend it), I never lost my sense of amazement at my truly blessed life and deep love for my friends and family. What did I do to deserve all of this?!? Please honor my life and remember me: know you are loved, spend time with and help one other, laugh, have fun, dance, be kind, tell stories & jokes, follow your passions, travel, eat seafood, and live life to the fullest. I will be watching!

You will forever be in my heart, and I will be in yours. I love you all!

~Sue
