Scott Andrew Hardie

Scott “Too Hottie Scottie” Hardie, age 46, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 06, 2014, surrounded by family and close friends at his home in Ferndale, WA. Scott bravely and valiantly fought a 16-month battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Scott was born on December 4th, 1967 to William and Virginia Hardie. He is the youngest of four children, including sisters Linda Webster and Debra Wright (Kevin) and twin brother, Rob Hardie (Jen). In addition to his parents and siblings, he is survived by his wife, Shanon “Westford” Hardie, parents-in-law, Monty & Bonnie Westford, brother-in-law Bo Westford (Teri), nieces & nephews: Robin Rice, Emily Webster, Jake & Megan Wright, Rebecca & Rachel Hardie, Drew & Brett Westford, as well as numerous special aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Scott was raised in Bellevue, WA, and graduated from Sammamish High School and Renton Technical College. His nearly 17 year Information Technology career included friendships and employment at Gonzaga University, University of Puget Sound, Washington Imaging Services and Western Washington University. He met the love of his life, Shanon, on a blind date arranged by her best friend in May of 2002, and they were married on their 3rd dating anniversary in 2005, in Lake Chelan, WA. After living in the greater Seattle, WA area for a number of years, they moved to his wife’s home town of Ferndale, WA in November 2011. A fan of dumb humor, Scott loved to laugh and found such pleasure in the simple things…a lesson we could all afford to learn from. He was the most loving, kind and giving person we knew…a gentle soul! Scott loved to be active and play games such as ping-pong with his nieces, nephews and friends, pickle ball with his mother-in-law and any board or word games he could talk you into playing. Quick with a smile and a hug, Scott was always good natured and would lift your spirits just being in his presence. He will be missed beyond words. A celebration of Scott’s life will take place on Sunday, February 9th at 2pm, at Bellingham Moose Lodge, 1761 West Bakerview Road, Bellingham, WA, 98226. Those in attendance are encouraged to wear their favorite Seattle Seahawks attire (Scott was a fan!). Shanon would like to acknowledge and thank their families, friends and colleagues for their tremendous support along this difficult journey. They felt the love and it helped them put one foot in front of the other each day.In lieu of flowers, memorials in Scott’s name may be made to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance by calling (877) 308-3117
