Roger, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law and friend went to be with our Lord on April 8, 2026. He was at home with his favorite music playing and his beloved wife Kathy at his side.

Roger graduated from McLane High School in 1964, he attended 2 different colleges, earning a BA degree in Geography, and a BA degree in Forestry Engineering.

Roger married Kathleen (Gerlits) on June 9, 1973, in Lake Oswego, Oregon. They had 2 sons and celebrated 53 blessed years together.

He retired as a Development Engineer for Whatcom County, Washington in 2013. Roger designed and built a house in Wellton, AZ, where he and Kathy enjoyed the winters in warmth.
Roger is survived by his devoted wife Kathleen L. McCarthy, sons, Lance A. (Marci) McCarthy, Ryan C. (Yumi) McCarthy, 4 grandsons, Kyle, Issac, Eric and Jackson McCarthy. His sister Cheryl G. Fuller, numerous extended family members and friends. His parents Ernest and Bettyan preceded him in death.
