Roberta (Bobi) Faye Rehberger

Roberta (Bobi) Faye Rehberger, age 68, returned home with her heavenly father on November 20, 2016, after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Bobi was born on June 3, 1948 in Bellingham, WA to Robert (Tuff) and Faye Myers (Hamilton) and grew up in South Bellingham with her younger brother, Mike Myers.   Bobi graduated from Bellingham High School in 1966 where she excelled in academics and music.  Shortly after, she met the love of her life, Larry Rehberger.  Bobi married Larry in 1968 and had four sons; Mark, Chris, Steve and Ken. Bobi was a devoted wife and mother, who stayed home for many years to care for her family, until she returned to school to pursue a nursing degree, where she would later become a Nurse Practitioner, specializing in diabetes care (a passion that came from having a husband and son both with Type 1 diabetes).  In the community, Bobi was well known as a respected Nurse Practitioner who focused on providing the highest quality diabetic care and education, being recognized as Nurse of the Year in 1997.  She had an extraordinary passion for medicine, education and helping people, and reluctantly stopped practicing only when her health would no longer allow her to continue.  Bobi’s passion for helping people extended well into her personal life as well.  She was incredibly generous and had a gift for seeing the best in everyone; always taking care of those in need and striving to make everyone feel special.  Anyone and everyone was welcomed at her home and she had a way to make each person feel like a part of her family.  She will forever be remembered for her generosity and loving heart.  Outside of spending time with family and friends, Bobi enjoyed travelling with survivors of the WWII 96th Bomb Group (in memory of her father, Robert Myers, a WWII POW), sewing and quilting with her mother and shopping with her girlfriends. Bobi loved the holidays, especially celebrating Christmas, and had a great love for animals. She enjoyed her many trips to Disneyland and loved absolutely anything having to do with Disney. Bobi was preceded in death by her father, Robert (Tuff) Myers and son, Steve Rehberger. And is survived by her mother, Faye Myers (Hamilton); husband Larry Rehberger; sons David (Kathy) Mark, Chris (Alisha) and Ken (Laura); grandchildren Adrianna, Evan and Logan Rehberger, Jennifer and Kyle Miller and Nicole TeVelde; brother Mike (Bonnie) Myers and many dear close friends and extended family. A celebration of life service for Bobi will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2016, 4:00 PM at Fox Hall, 3985 Bennett Dr., Bellingham, WA 98225.
