Robert Allen Hamilton

Robert A. Hamilton, age 85, of Bellingham passed away at his home Tuesday, December 29, 2020 with his family by his side. 

Bob was born November 21, 1935 in Bellingham, the 3rd child to James and Hazel (Todd) Hamilton.  He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1954 and married his high school sweetheart Beverly Jean Sullivan in 1956.  The couple spent their early years in Wenatchee, WA where their 2 children were born, returning to Bellingham in the mid 1960’s.

A skilled and creative welder, Bob worked at Weldit Tank & Steel and then ARCO Cherry Point from the early 70’s until his retirement in 1994.  He very much loved his work and enjoyed the friendship of his co-workers

Bob loved outdoor activities, pursuing many different interest over the years, hunting, fishing, golfing and boating to name a few.  Whatever his pursuit might be – his life was dedicated to the love and happiness of his family.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years Beverly; his daughter, Jennifer Wood and husband Craig; son, Todd Hamilton and wife Cheryl; grandchildren, Nicole, Randy, Joanna and Samantha; great grandchildren, Emily and Elizabeth and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.  He was preceded in death by his sister Ruth Marie Leach and brother James Hamilton.

At his request no services will be held. The family wishes to thank and suggest that memorial contributions be made to Whatcom Hopsice House, 2800-2806 Douglas Road, Bellingham, WA  98225
