Ricky Ray Moore

Ricky Ray Moore, 66, of Custer, WA. died Wednesday November 27, 2019 after losing his battle with Metastatic prostate cancer.

Rick was born May 1, 1953 to Gene and Phyllis Moore in Portland Oregon.  After the death of his Mother Phyllis, Rick was raised by his Grandparents, Tom and Irene Haddox and moved to the Bellingham Ferndale area.  He attended Parkview Elementary, North Bellingham Jr High, Ferndale, Bellingham and Mount Baker High Schools. He graduated from Mount Baker High School in 1973.

Rick is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cheryl (Gilbert) Moore, sons Ryan (Stacie) Moore of Bellingham and Tommy (Jana) Moore of Ferndale. Grand Children Blake Moore, and Taylor, Dylan and Maria Moore; Aunt Roberta Taney of Houston Texas; Half siblings Tom Moore of California and Melissa (Moore) of Seattle; Cousins Scott (Renee) Taney and Greg Taney of Houston Texas; Many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews as well an many loved in-laws and friends.

Rick was preceded in Death by his parents Gene and Phyllis Moore, Grandparents Tom and Irene Haddox, brothers Tim and Danny Moore, Half-sister Kim Moore, Uncles Robert Taney and Didi Glover and Nephew J.D. Brown.

During his career he worked in Misc. construction, and at Uniflite, Ershigs and Ridgeway packaging.  He managed Louis Auto Glass in Lynden until he retired.

Rick loved people. His Family, his friends, young, old and in between. He was the favorite uncle.      “Uncle Ricky”, the fun one, but also the person you could go to for help or just to talk. He loved his sons dearly and was so proud of them. He spent his time with his loved ones taking road trips, camping, water skiing, riding motorcycles and working on cars.  He loved jokes and laughter or just hanging out.

Viewing will be 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday December 8, 2019 at Sig’s Funeral & Cremation Services, 809 W. Orchard Drive, Suite 3, Bellingham WA.

Services will be Saturday December 14, 2019.

Graveside: 11:00 am, Haynie Cemetery in Custer
