Richard Lee Rothenbuhler

On Sunday, December 20, 2020, Richard Rothenbuhler, loving husband and father passed away at 77 after putting up a courageous fight with COPD.

Richard was born on February 9, 1943 in Bellingham, WA to Archie and Marion Rothenbuhler. He worked for Bellingham Parks and Recreation for 40 years as part of a dedicated team helping build the park and trail system that we enjoy today. Richard enjoyed being outdoors camping, fishing, hunting and gardening and shared tips and tricks with everyone. Christmas was a favorite time of year when he transformed into an avid baker. Family and friends looked forward to the annual gift basket filled with every kind of cookie and candy you could imagine - and some new ones you couldn’t.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Archie and Marion. He is survived by his brothers Jim (Sheri) Rothenbuhler, Jon (Lori) Rothenbuhler, his sisters Joanne Powers, Cheri Engman, wife Debbie , children Evie (Bill) Harmon, Carol (Bruce) Minor, Adam Rothenbuhler, Darla (Curtis) Smith, Angila Wilson, Edward Witherell, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Richard will be forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
