Richard "Dick" Pearson

Richard “Dick” Pearson, age 82, of Everson went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, January 9, 2014 surrounded by his beloved family at his home. He was born April 19, 1931 at the family home on Lake Whatcom; he called Whatcom County his lifelong home. Dick graduated from Bellingham High School in the class of 1950. He spent his next four years serving in the Navy before starting a sheet metal apprenticeship resulting in a 36 year career with the Haskell Corporation.

Dick married Carol in 1957. His passion for the outdoors included hunting, fishing, golfing, hiking and skiing where he spent many years on the Mt. Baker Ski Patrol. He and Carol were fortunate to enjoy 20 years of retirement that included family, travel and wintering in California and Arizona.

Dick cherished his family and friends; his smile, laughter and compassion for us all will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, sons, Joel of Gig Harbor, Jon of Bellingham and Kevin of Seattle and their respective spouses along with four treasured grandsons, a sister, brother and many nieces, nephew and cousins.

The family wishes to acknowledge and express gratitude for the care Dick received from Whatcom Hospice and suggest any memorials be directed to them.

There will be an open house to celebrate Dick’s wonderful life on Saturday, February 1, 2014, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at the Squalicum Boat House, 2600 Harbor Loop, Bellingham, WA 98225.
