Rhoda Jean Mack

Rhoda Jean Mack passed away peacefully at Whatcom Hospice House, June 7, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. She was born December 4, 1940 to Edward and Dorothy Burger in Minneapolis Minnesota.

Rhoda was married to the love of her life, Ed Mack, for 64 years. It was clear early on in their marriage that Rhoda had a passion for music and food. She would play the piano for the less fortunate in a mission located on “Skid Row” in Los Angeles. She was also the pianist for her home church for many years.

Rhoda and Ed would often have the youth over from the church for dinners…tacos, and spaghetti, whatever she could cook in quantity.

When she wasn’t cooking, she loved to watch cooking shows. Later in life you would find her in the TV room at their house, often with Ed next to her holding hands, watching her favorite cooking shows. She and Ed were big supporters of the CTK food bank and would plant a big vegetable garden every year to help support the food bank. She also enjoyed her flower garden which was full of roses and peonies, her favorite flowers.

Her love for family was apparent in her every day life, and the love that started this family so many years ago continues to grow this family today… 3 Children, 7 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great, Great Grandchild. Rhoda is also survived by her Husband Ed Mack, Sister’s Doris Downey and Darlene (John) Garner. Her Children Sherrie (Bill) Anderson, Norm (Tammy) Mack, and Ed (Michele) Mack.

She was preceded in death by her Parents, Sister Ruth, and Brother in-law’s Jim and J.D.

Rhoda’s celebration of life will be held at Christ the King Church of Bellingham, 4173 Meridian Street, Bellingham Washington, June 20^th at 1:00pm.

If you ever talked with Rhoda you know that her love for Jesus was first and foremost in her life. So now, thy good and faithful servant, enter in the Kingdom to live with Jesus forever.
