Randall "Randy" Wayne Reeves

Randall Wayne “Randy” Reeves passed away on September 9, 2023 in his hometown of Bellingham, WA.

Randy was born on December 26,1957 to Gil and Peggy Reeves. Upon graduating from Sehome High School, Randy held several jobs in Bellingham. In search of a change, he moved to Soldotna, Alaska where he worked at a Bible camp called Solid Rock. In 1987 after 5 years of living in Alaska, he returned home.

Although Randy appreciated time spent alone, he steadily began to reconnect with his family. With a knack for problem solving and passion for fixing all things mechanical, Randy became the go-to handyman of the family. Whether it was restoring an old gadget, repairing a motorbike, or lending a helping hand around the house or farm - Randy could do it.

For part of the year, Randy worked on a farm in Idaho for Roger Morter. He enjoyed the work and grew very close to the Morter family.

As his parents grew older, Randy chose to live with them full-time in order to better care for them and assist with maintaining the family home. This care allowed them to live in their home until they passed away in 2016 & 2022.

Randy was often found tinkering with electronics & motorcycles, swimming or kayaking at Lake Whatcom, riding his motorbike on the backroads, and defeating any opponent in ping pong or one of his computer games. He also enjoyed watching & playing tennis with his dear sisters.

He is survived by his siblings Patricia Somersby and her husband Michael Verber, Jeannie Sturtevant and her husband Alan, Margery Rogers and her husband Bruce.

Although he did not have children of his own, he had a way of connecting with younger generations. He taught the kids (nephews, nieces, Morters, & Kai) in his life valuable lessons and shared his knowledge of life in a way that was easy to understand. To enjoy the simple things in life and have fun along the way.

A celebration of life for Randy will be held at Bayview Cemetery on January 10th at 1PM. Thank you in advance for sharing your memories of Randy. May we all take more time caring for and fixing the things in our life that are important to us just as Randy did.
