Randall "Randy" Lee Matter

Randy Lee Matter, age 55, of Bellingham passed away Monday, August 30, 2021 in Bellingham, Washington. He was born March 18, 1966 in Bellingham, Washington to parents Gerald Lee and Ellen Louise (Ten Kley) Matter.

Randy was preceded in death by his father Gerald L. Matter and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Cherrie Lovelace of Bellingham; daughter, Cassie Matter and her finance Anthony Hadeen of Bellingham; stepson, Andrew Lovelace and his wife Jamie and their son Aidan D’Amanto of Idaho, stepson, Aaron Marion and his wife Leah, and their children Abigail, James and Sam of Bellingham; his mother, Ellen L. Matter of Bellingham; sister, Paula Felix and her husband Tyler, and their children Brandon, Ashely and her finance Chris and their son Dustin; sister, Chris Heintz and her children Justin and Chandler;  numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Randy joined the Army December 3, 1985 and served as a Military Police until July 18, 1991 when he was Honorably Discharged.  He received multiple awards during his time of service.  Presently Randy worked at WTA as a Fleet Mechanic from October 16, 2007 until he passed away on August 30, 2021. 

Randy loved the outdoors and was an avid Hunter and a member of the Rainer Ridge Rams 4 Wheel Drive Club.  He also, loved playing Softball and started his summer playing with the Trinity Lutheran softball team in Lynden at Bender Fields.  Randy’s family always came first and he loved spending time with friends and being active although he wasn’t one to turn down a good nap.  He always had a smile on his face. 

Our family is so appreciative of all of the good thoughts, prayers, love and support from everyone.

 A memorial celebration of Randy’s life will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 at the family home.
