Ralph Edward Sager

February 20, 1941 — November 21, 2022

Ferndale

Ralph was born to Ina and Willard Sager on February 20, 1941.

He was the youngest of nine children, two sisters and six brothers.

Ralph attended Ferndale High School and was a great athlete. He played basketball, football and track. He still holds the record for the longest javelin throw.

It was in high school that he met and married Patricia Ann Booth. After high school they moved to Everett where he attended Everett Community College and played football.

They had four girls: Julie, Suzanne, Kathleen and Trisha.

Ralph worked hard in the construction business with his brothers.

Ralph and family moved to Marysville, then Mukilteo where he changed his career path and went into the restaurant business. He was the manager of a Sambo’s locally then was transferred to manage the Santa Cruz California restaurant for many years. He then went on to own the Bubble bakery and coffee shop in Santa Cruz. He raised his family in the restaurant business, and they all learned from his amazing work ethic. In 1980 they moved back to Washington where Ralph worked construction and managed the restaurant at Cedarcrest in Marysville.

Ralph loved to play golf and in 1987 they moved to Port Orchard and lived in McCormick woods golf community. Here he made many friends and enjoyed having coffee at Elmer’s.

Ralph and Pat also spent a good amount of time in Mesa Arizona. Ralph liked to show off his cooking skills in their club house. Their children and grandchildren would visit often in both Port Orchard and in Mesa.

Ralph loved to tinker in his garage and make art out of plaster.

In March of 2012, Ralph lost his loving wife of 54 years. He then moved back to Ferndale to be close to his brothers, sisters and their families.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents Willard and Ina, his loving wife Patricia, daughter Kathleen Rose Davis, Brothers Don, Frank, Robert, Jim, and sisters Marion and Beverley.

Ralph is survived by his wife Arlynne, his daughters Julie (Kim), Sue Anderson (Brian), Trisha Jonas (Mike), Grandchildren Krystan Millar (Nick), Jodi Sadighi (Jeff), Kurtis Swobody (Sandra), Brandon Davis, Trista Davis, Abby Davis, Parker Jonas, Gabriella Jonas, Grace Jonas and seven grandchildren.
