Paul Marshall White

Paul Marshall White, age 60, of Bellingham, WA died of cancer on April 8, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Baltimore, MD on January 3, 1953, Paul has lived in Whatcom County since 1975.

Paul had a lifelong passion for music, a love for the Blues, Soul and Rock & Roll. A guitarist and singer, he played 'rockin' rhythm & blues' around the Northwest for many years. In recent times, returning to his acoustic roots, he delighted family & friends with his guitar performances and smooth vocals.

An avid reader and lifelong learner, Paul liked to bring his progressive sensibility into spirited discussions around the political, economic and social issues of our times. He felt deeply connected to the beauty of the Northwest and enjoyed walking, biking, hiking, and boating.

Paul was employed as a Network Administrator by Matrix Service Company. A member of the Matrix IT team for 8 years, he was known for his dedication to customer service and his friendly nature. Prior to becoming an IT professional in 1999, Paul worked as a carpenter in home construction.

A gentle man with a kind heart, Paul will be remembered as a 'soul brother' and supportive friend to many. He was a warmly attentive, playful "GrandPaul" to five grandkids and a devoted, loving partner for 26 years to his best friend Janice. Paul will be deeply missed.

Preceded in death by his parents, Paul is survived by his wife, Janice Taylor; by stepsons Darian Busby (Leslie), Justin Busby (Sara) and Paul Busby (Rayne); by grandchildren Dathan, Maya, Fisher, Leia and Stella Busby; by his parental in-laws Ron & Jill Butler; by siblings Beverlee WhitePsichopaidas (Nick), Tina White, Willis White, Carl White (Kelli), David White, David Butler (Sharon), Rick Butler (Robin), Brenda Butler (Rick), Colleen Butler Stewart (Doug); and by nieces & nephews Ivory, Evan, Savannah, Teghann, Jacob, Gabriel, Caleb, Dustan and Casey.
