Patricia Marie (Alden) Dupree, of Lynden Washington, passed away peacefully in Whatcom Hospice House, on the evening of April 13, 2023, at the age of 80.
Pat is survived and lovingly remembered by her niece Donna McGee Thompson, nephew Michael McGee, and great nephew Evan Thompson. Her memory is also deeply cherished by her closest friend, Pearl Schmunk. Pat is predeceased by her husband Doyle, father John, mother Gladys, sister Jean, and bother John.
Pat was born in Calhoun Georgia on November 12, 1942, and spent her childhood there. Her family later moved to Ottawa Canada and then Vancouver Canada. Pat lived her young adult years in Vancouver as an active member of Glad Tidings Temple, where she also worked in the busy office. Folks from Glad Tidings also remember her especially for her work as a youth camp leader.
She later moved to Seattle to attend Bible school at King’s Temple while she worked as a nanny. She had many adventures during these years, including travelling twice to Taiwan to visit missionaries living there, including her own sister, brother-in-law and niece.
Pat married Doyle (“Bobby”) Dupree in 1985, in Calhoun, and they built a house there together. They later set off for a road trip across the country, living and working out of their camper van. They eventually settled in Bellingham Washington and started a home renovation company together. Pat was a member of My Church. She and Bobby stayed in Bellingham until Bobby passed in 2020.
In 2021, Pat moved to Lynden Washington to share a home with her friend Pearl, and remained there until she passed on April 13, 2023.
