Pasquale Salvati

Pasquale Salvati passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 16, 2024, in Bellingham, WA at the age of 78. He was born on November 7, 1945 in Torre del Greco, Italy to his parents Iolanda Chiaro and Giovanni Salvati.

 Pasquale is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marialuisa Impagliazzo and his daughters; Mariangela (Jeffery) Gassman and Antonella (Ryan) Walker. Grandchildren; Tyler and Madeline Gassman, Jackson and Logan Walker. Sister; Giuseppina Salvati. Brother-in-law; Antonio Impagliazzo, Sister-in-law; Marcie Impagliazzo. Nieces; Patrizia Vacatello and Michelle Impagliazzo.

 On October 20, 1968, Pasquale exchanged vows with the love of his life, Marialuisa Impagliazzo, in Genova, Italy. Pasquale's journey in life was filled with many diverse experiences. He began his career as maitre d' on cruise ships, navigating the Mediterranean Sea. In the late 70's he ventured to New York with Marialuisa and their daughter, Mary, where he worked in fine Italian restaurants. Later, he joined his brother-in-law at Alcoa in Whatcom County, where his youngest daughter, Antonella, was born.

 Pasquale, Marialuisa and Antonella relocated back to Italy in the mid 90's to be close to their family in Genova, Italy. Returning to his love for the sea, he worked on cruise ships again for Corsica Sardinia Ferries. In 2003, the birth of his first grandchild, Tyler brought them back to Bellingham, where Pasquale and Marialuisa opened Torre Caffe, a coffee shop that quickly became a popular community spot for 14 years. Retirement allowed Pasquale to embrace his role as a doting grandfather, a job he cherished above all. Pasquale had a love for soccer that lit up his eyes whenever his favorite team Napoli played. His enthusiasm for the sport was infectious and one of his greatest passions.

 Pasquale was a man of great warmth and kindness. He touched the lives of many with his positivity and encouragement. He was a beacon of light, guiding his family through life's ups and downs. He will always be remembered as a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an incredible mark on all those who were fortunate enough to know him. May his spirit continue to shine bright in the hearts of those he touched forever, reminding us of the power of kindness and love.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday June 14th, at 10:30 AM at Assumption Catholic Church, 2116 Cornwall AV, Bellingham, WA 98225.
