Oliver Burton Perry was born May 26th, 2008 to Marc and Cindy Perry and was the second youngest of seven siblings. Growing up, he was remembered to be particularly small, but more than made up for it with his fierce competitiveness and quick-witted confidence. He was the opposite of an introvert, a pro-photo bomber, and ring-leader of rambunctious homies. This really shined through in his sports teams-his years of soccer, baseball, and basketball lended to his proficiency in trash talking and extraordinary feats of surprising athletic accomplishments such as backwards, half-court basketball shots and making the team for Lynden High School Soccer freshman year. Pound for pound he had swagger and could back it up in the most enthusiastic and unflappable way.
Everyone said that Oliver lived every day to the fullest. He brought the shenanigans and the cockiness, but he also held an intense gratitude and loyalty to caring for everyone in his life. He will be greatly missed by his entire family, his friends, his classmates at Lynden Academy, and the thousands of lives he touched in just a short 15 years. He passed away living his best day on May 27th, 2023. After leaving this earth, we found a verse that he saved: “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
