Nancy Sherman DeMaris passed away in Bellingham, WA. on Nov, 27, 2017. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.  She was born on May 12, 1939 in Tacoma, WA to Herbert and Marguerite Baker. She attended Stadium High School in Tacoma, WA. where she met her soon to be husband James Brown. Married in 1959, they started their family, her proudest accomplishment was her three boys, Craig, Scott and Keith. In 1975, she remarried Robert DeMaris who preceded her in death in 2014.  Married for 39 years they joined families, Nancy gained two daughters Yvonne and Michelle. They raised their family in the Bellevue/Issaquah area. Nancy worked as an Executive Secretary at Puget Power for many years.  Her husband, an accountant for GE transferred to Laguna Hills, CA., while here Nancy excelled in the H.R. Department of Rockwell International Defense Electronics, she also set up a new office in Newport Beach and handled all administrative duties for three senior officers. She loved this job, and spoke of it often, she received many awards for her work there. After retiring to Gig Harbor, WA., Nancy became a staff member at the Pacific Rim Wildlife Art show. With her interests in Oil Painting, she studied under some great artists and became one herself. She won many awards for her artwork that we as a family treasure today. She loved music and had the most beautiful singing voice and was an accomplished pianist. She also had a great love of cats.  Bob and Nancy enjoyed many years in Jubilee residential community in Lacey, WA. and made many friends. Nancy loved to walk with her friends, perform in the community plays and usher with her husband at the local theatre. She loved helping people.Nancy lived the last days of her life in Bellingham, WA., near family.  She lived at Spring Creek Retirement Community where she made many new friends, she was loved by so many. Nancy loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spoke of them often and loved to look at old pictures.

A celebration of life will be held later for family and friends. We will miss her beautiful smile.
