Merle Magner

Merle Magner

 Merle Magner, age 89 passed away peacefully at Whatcom Hospice House, surrounded by his family. He spent many of his early years in the logging industry, and later worked for the City of Bellingham in the Public Works Department. He was an avid golfer. He was a member of Good News Fellowship Church and loved the Lord dearly. He was loved by many people and will be missed. Merle was predeceased by his parents, Laura and Earl Magner; first wife Betty Magner, daughter Nancy Willert, grand-daughter Tanya Davis, brother Glen Magner, sisters Nelda Pritchard, and Fay Hoggett.  He is survived by his wife Martha Magner, daughters Laura Johnson and her husband Ronald, and Kathy Cramer, son-in-law Tom Willert, sister Joyce Hayertz, step-children Dick and Carol Cornelsen, Bruce and Karen Walker, and Daniel and Patricia Cornelsen, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-children, great grand-children and great- great grand-children. Graveside service will be at 10:00 at Greenacres Cemetery with a memorial service following at 11:30 at Good News Fellowship Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Whatcom Hospice House. They took wonderful care of Merle.
