Melinda "Mindy" Elaine Goode-Johnson

May 18, 1959 — April 2, 2024

Ferndale, WA

Melinda Elaine Goode-Johnson

Mindy was born May 18, 1959 in Bellingham, Washington. To the parents of Donald Alexander Goode and Judith Leah Dayton-Goode. She was the oldest of three children. She is survived by her sister, Catherine Goode and brother, Daniel Goode. She is survived by her husband Michael William Johnson, her daughter, Brandi Jean Johnson-Salkeld, son Brandon Michael Johnson, and grandson, Jayden Axl Johnson.

Mindy passed away peacefully on the morning of April 2, 2024 at the Hospice House after a long battle with pancreatic cancer just a month and a half shy of her 65th birthday.

During her life she met many people and touched lives. She worked up the ladder in the Ferndale School District. She started as the person that sold tickets (we called her the ticket lady) in the morning to students for lunch. She worked up to Head Cook at Mt. View Elementary and then in the last few years moved to Cascadia Elementary in Ferndale where she got to see her grandson for lunch every day he had class. She loved working with the kids and would have stories about what happened every day at work. She retired on February 15, 2024.

In her spare time, Mindy liked to go out with friends after work and socialize. She liked to sew and quilt and was very proud of the blankets she made for family and friends. She was also a big foodie and would like to try new restaurants. Spending time with her grandson was something she loved and with family. Closer to her retirement she liked to go places and travel around the state when time allowed.

There will be a Remembrance of Life for Mindy but the date and times are pending as the family makes arrangements. In lieu of flowers if people would like to make donations to PeaceHealth St. Joesph Cancer Center
