Marie Luxon

Marie Luxon, 98, passed away peacefully at her home in Lynden Sunday, November 4, 2012, shortly after worshiping her Savior and God Sunday morning. Born Effie Marie Stuttler on March 8, 1914 to Clark and Elizabeth Stuttler in Yetwood, Alberta, Canada. Marie grew up in Bridgeport, Washington, married James M. Luxon in Okanagan on November 11, 1934, and settled in Lynden in 1989.

Full of life, Marie loved God and family, had many talents including gardening, cooking, and sewing. She enjoyed the outdoors and shared many years with her husband serving as a Ranger in the Washington State Parks. Marie remained actively engaged in her church, family, and community until her last days. Her sparkling sense of humor, infectious laugh, and steadfast faith brought others joy.

Preceded in death by daughter Phyllis in1953, husband Jim in 2006 and son Eugene in 2008, she is survived by daughter-in-law, Grace Luxon of Birch Bay, Washington; four grandchildren: Tim (Beverly) Luxon of Kirkland, Washington; Tralee (Samuel) Randolph of Merced, California; Lane Luxon of Sumas, Washington and Andrew Luxon of Merced, California. She has two great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Aaron Luxon of Kirkland, Washington and brother, Ron Statler.

A memorial services will be held Monday, November 12th, 1:00pm at North County Christ the King Church in Lynden.
