Lois Janette Wooten

Lois J. Wooten, age 87, of Bellingham passed away at her home Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015.

She was born January 9, 1928 in Minden, West Virginia to parents Robert Wesley and Sarah Elizabeth (Wilshire) Wilkerson. In 1946 she married a shy young man fresh out of World War II,

James Marion Wooten a family acquaintance who she spent the next 61 years of her life with.  Together they raised four children Sally Wayne, Mark and David; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandson.  For many years Lois was the Administrative Assistant to the Commander of the China Lake Naval Weapons Center in Ridgecrest, California. After retiring she has continued to enjoy a close relationship with God, her church and her family.  A terrific cook, avid shopper, traveler and prayer-leader of her local community.  Lois continues to touch the lives of everyone she meets.  A graveside service will be held at Bayview Cemetery, Bellingham Friday, September 4, 2015, 1:00 PM with Dr. Skip Suess officiating.  A reception will follow at Fox Hall, 3985 Bennett Dr., Bellingham, WA 98225.
