Lenny Marvin Small

December 4, 1940 — August 2, 2023

Bellingham, WA

Lenny M. Small, age 82, of Bellingham went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023 in Bellingham. He was born Dec. 4, 1940 in Lynden to parents Marvin and Alberta (Hawley) Small. He was preceded in death by his son Rick and is survived by his wife Jeanne of 57 years; daughters Sheryl (Bill) Banks, Suzy Lynch and Debbie (Bruce) Smith; grandchildren Jennifer, Deanne, Sarah, Wesley and Jared; great grandchildren Jayden, Alana and Connor; sister, Sally (George) Jones; brothers Bob (Vivian) Small and Bliss (Felicia) Small and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Lenny loved spending time with his family and friends; he was always the life of the party with his big smile and bright blue eyes.  Hobbies included gardening, camping, cooking, woodworking, fishing and watching the Seahawks!  He generously gave his time to anyone that needed help.  He enjoyed church activities and was filled with Joy and Love for the Lord.

Lenny was the top fundraiser as a member of Team Hope, a team that participated for several years in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. By utilizing his exceptional woodworking skills, Lenny used a lathe and spun a thousand bowls, raising thousands of dollars to help find a cure for cancer.

He retired from Bellingham Technical College in 2006 as Maintenance Specialist.  He was known for being able to fix or build anything, including building his own house and his daughter and son-in-law’s house upon retirement.
