Leland "Lee" Dale Carlson, age 81, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 28, 2023. He was born September 28, 1942 to his parents, Lawrence and Marjory Carlson.  Lee was raised mostly in Washington State, but graduated at Jordan High School in Sandy, Utah.  Lee married Judy Modenese on June 12, 1971. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage together.  They raised two beautiful children together.  Lee worked at Intalco (Alcoa) for 35 years before retiring.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, as well as raising animals on a small hobby farm.  Lee loved spending time with his family. After retirement Leland enjoyed serving the community by volunteering at the Blaine Food Bank.  The last few years he loved serving at Cornwall Church as a Greeter.  He was always ready to help anyone and always had the friendliest beautiful smile. Lee was also a member of the Lynden VFW Post 9301 where he loved serving Veterans. Lee is survived by his wife Judy of 52 years; sons Terry, Brian, Mark and wife Barbara; daughter Heather TenKley and husband Jeremy; grandchildren, Cody, Jade, Bianca, Patrick, Logan, Jillian, Skyler and Rylee; 2 brothers Leslie Carlson and Joseph (Kelly) Carlson, 2 sisters Barbara Mann and Debbie (Leroy) Hurley; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Leland was preceded in death by father Lawrence Carlson, mother Marjory Ericksen, sister Laura Bear, brother Larry Carlson, brother Leon Carlson, very special friend Lorraine (LaLa) Parker, sister-in-law Karen Carlson, mother-in-law Dorothy Modenese, father-in-law John Modenese, brother-in-law Stephen Modenese. 

 

A graveside service will be held at Enterprise Cemetery, 7041 Vista Dr, Ferndale on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM followed by a time of food and fellowship at Cornwall Church, 4518 Northwest Dr, Bellingham at 2:00p.m.
