Kenneth Dale
Pierson
Nov 12, 1934 — May 22, 2026
Bayview Cemetery
Starts at 2:00 pm (Pacific time)
Kenneth Dale Pierson, age 91, was born November 12, 1934, in Bellingham to William Thomas and Erma Mae Belle Pierson. After graduating from Bellingham High School in 1952, he stepped into the hard, honest work of Logging down in Humboldt County, California, alongside his brother-in-law, Mike Parrish.
In March of 1957, Ken answered the call to serve his country, joining the United States Army. As an Engineer Equipment Repairman, he used his hands and his intellect to serve with honor until March of 1960. When his military service concluded, Ken tried his hand at fishing for a brief time, but the woods called him back. He returned to the trees, dedicating the rest of his working life to his true calling as a logger and became known among his peers as the “Old Man.”
Ken was a man who appreciated the simple, good things in life. He loved the outdoors, finding peace and joy in hunting and fishing. He enjoyed the thrill of a good bingo game, and he was a loyal, steadfast fan of the Seattle Mariners and the Seahawks. He was a man of grit, hard work, and quiet dedication.
Ken is survived by his son, Klay Pierson, granddaughter Terra Pierson, Cousin Beth Ayars, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside services with Military Honors will be held Monday, July 13, 2026, 2:00 PM at Bayview Cemetery in Bellingham.
