Kathy Sherfey

Kathy Sherfey, age 61 of Bellingham, passed away at her home April 4, 2013, surrounded by her family and close friends, following a courageous battle with cancer. Kathy was born, March 29, 1952, in Sumas, Washington, to Theresa (Hento) and Elmer Neil Radder. She was preceded in death by her parents, stepdad (Robert Wilbur) and infant sister (Diana Kay Radder).

Kathy is survived by her husband of 40 years, Chuck Sherfey; daughter, Sarah & husband Jeremy Gunderson; son, Chad & wife Jaida Sherfey; grandkids, Kashia & Kody Gunderson, Ethan & Zach Sherfey; brothers, Darrell (Carole) Radder, Don (Mary Anne) Radder, Dale (Kim) Radder, Dean Radder, Darwin Radder; sisters, Karen (Dave) Bellingar, Karolyn Radder and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Kathy graduated from Bellingham High School in the class of 1972. Kathy worked for Uniflite for over 16 years, before she started working at Georgia Pacific. After GP closed she went to work at Bellingar Storage with her sister and sister-in-law.

Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, working in the garden and spending time with her Besties, Pat, Cheryl and Jackie. Kathy’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids.

Private family inurnment will be held Friday April 12, 2013 at Bayview Cemetery, Bellingham, WA. A memorial open house will be held at the Northwood Hall, 3240 NW Ave., Bellingham, WA 98225, Saturday, April 13, 2013 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials be made in Kathy’s memory to a Cancer Charity of your choice or Love Inc.
