Joel Terrill "Terry" Crowley was born in Cushing, OK on March 21, 1940 to Fred Crowley and Emma Lucille (Munday) Crowley. He died on September 3, 2012 in an automobile accident. He was 72.

Joel attended Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia and then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served from 1957-1963 and received a medal of good conduct in 1960. He was an expert marksman.

Joel graduated from the Spartan School of Aeronautics in 1968 and always had a special fondness for airplanes. Joel retired as an engineer from Bellingham Cold Storage after 25 years, but continued work as a driver for Bellair Shuttle.

Joel took some fun trips in recent years, including one to Disneyland with his two daughters and one to visit friends and family in various states. He said these trips were among his favorites.

Joel loved planes, motorcycles, spending time with his family, good music, art, and tai chi. He collected old coins and enjoyed good jokes.

He was preceded in death by both his parents, Fred and Emma Lucille, and other loved ones. He leaves behind his two daughters Rebecca Jolyn Crowley and Emma Elizabeth (Crowley) Watson with previous wife Deborah Watson, all of Whatcom County, sister Emma Jane Sanford (Rick) of Florida, nephew Brandon Juhnke of Ohio, uncle Don Crowley (Mary) of California, cousins Jan Rainey (Darryl) of Oklahoma, Joel Munday of Alaska, Tony Munday (Melaney) of Texas, and many other loved relatives and friends.

Joel will have a memorial site at the Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale. His ashes will be scattered in memorable places.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 12, at 3pm at the United Church of Christ, 855 4th St., Blaine.
