Jean Castor Ketcham Patten, age 92, was born Feb.11, 1929 in Kansas City, MO. She loved her family, hosting parties, traveling, reading, searching for unique antiques, and for over 20 years treating her children and their families to yearly reunions in Carlsbad, CA. She loved being called “Grandma Beach” by her 11 grandchildren.
Jean attended Stanford where she met Earle Lucas Patten. Following graduation, they married and lived in Palo Alto, CA where they welcomed three children: Steven, Mary Ann and Amy. In 1958, the family moved to Fresno, CA. David was born in 1966, completing the family. Earle died in 1974 and a year later Jean and David moved to Phoenix, AZ where she worked as the Personnel Manager for Arizona Agrochem. After retiring, she followed her passion and became an Estate Appraiser specializing in antiques and art.
In 2010, Jean moved to Washington State to be near family where she enjoyed lunch dates, holiday dinners and visiting with great grandchildren. She died in Ferndale, WA Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021.
