Jan Raymond Gregory, 84, of Bellingham, WA, passed away on March 17, 2026. Born on January 26, 1942, Jan was a cherished member of the community and a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having honorably served from 1959 to 1967 on the USS Boyd and the USS De Haven during the Vietnam War.

Jan married his beloved wife, Shirley, on December 8, 1967, and together they shared a passion for travel, often spending time in their RV, camping along the Nooksack River, or crabbing at Cherry Point Beach. An avid sports fan, Jan never missed a Mariners or Seahawks game and was known in Whatcom County for his skill in pool tournaments. He also had a knack for cribbage, eagerly passing on his knowledge to the younger generations.

Beyond his hobbies, Jan was a supportive and dependable presence in the lives of his friends and family. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Garcia (Andy); brother, Roger Gregory; sister-in-law, Judy Tice; niece, Sandy Goforth; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jan was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Gregory and Lorraine Firlit; his wife, Shirley Gregory; sister, Theresa Petersen; sister, Bonnie Medlin; and son, Robert Gregory.

A graveside service will be held at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale, WA, on Thursday, March 26th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hospice House of Bellingham at 2806 Douglas Ave, Bellingham, WA 98225, honoring Jan's compassionate spirit.
