James Edward Grosvenor

James Grosvenor died peacefully in Bellingham Washington on August 15, 2017 at the age of 62, surrounded by friends, night and day.

James a.k.a. Fat James is survived by his brother and sister, Fred Grosvenor and Barbara Grosvenor, sister-in-law, Cathie Grosvenor, niece and nephew, Sara and Ben Grosvenor, sister-in-law, Laura Grosvenor, great nephew and niece,  Brendan and Erin, cousins Dorothy, Suzanne, Jack, Jerry, Jeanetta and Jesse.

He is preceded in death by his parents Elizabeth and Theodore Grosvenor, and his beloved longtime partner, Catherine Brown.

James was born in 1954 in Columbus, Ohio to Theodore and Elizabeth Grosvenor.  He started his career in music when he was 16 years old, and became a very successful blues musician, who was well-known by Blues enthusiasts throughout Washington State and the Northwest. He was the kind of person everyone liked immediately.  James took his charm, wit and charisma with him to the stage.  He was honest, funny and loving.  He was also quite intelligent and enjoyed watching educational programs on television.  He enjoyed geology, astronomy, quantum physics and history.  James loved being outside; in the woods and on the beach.  James watched as many sunsets as he could.

He will be missed greatly by family, friends and his Fat James audience.

Because James has friends in both Bellingham Washington and Seattle Washington there will be a memorial held at the Wild Buffalo in Bellingham, WA and a second memorial at Capps Club in Kenmore.
