Jim passed away peacefully at home November 7, 2023 with his family by his side after a long battle with dementia and Parkinson’s.
He was born at home in Elma, WA to James and Blossom Brown and spent his childhood in Elma and Montesano.
In 1956, while serving in the Army at Fort Lewis, he married his high school sweetheart Gerry Deppiesse in Montesano, WA. Jim finished his service at Fort Lewis and they packed up for the big city of Seattle where he enrolled in the University of Washington. Jim became a lifelong Husky fan, especially football, attending games until 2019 when his health would keep him home.
After earning a BA degree in Business Administration, Jim worked in Seattle. Two years later a job opportunity with Uniflite would bring the now family of four to Bellingham.
Jim is survived by his wife Gerry, son Mitch (Karla) and daughter Tracy. He was preceded in death by his parents James A and Blossom Brown, and his sister Marie (Del) Fry.
Jim’s children would like to thank their mom for her wonderful loving care of dad so that he could remain in the family home.
The family would also like to thank all of his friends that have supported him over the years and the caregivers that have assisted Jim these past couple of years.
The family will hold a private memorial service.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
