Howard Jay Yanke, age 77, of Bellingham passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham. He was born May 26, 1949 in Bellingham to parents Thomas and Emily

Yanke. He graduated from Ferndale High School with the Class of 1967 and later from WWSC.

He worked at various jobs including Whatcom County Road Dept., Lynden Western Farmers and as a custodian at WWU for over 20 years. When he was not working he enjoyed shooting pool for many years with various leagues. Howard is survived by his sister Marlene and her husband Bob Grasher and his brother Daryl Yanke and other relatives and friends.
