Hertha Muhlbach, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother peacefully passed in her sleep from this life into Gods hands on June 13, 2025. She was one of 6 siblings born to Hermann and Katerina Sidas in Osterbruch Germany on Sept 25,1923. She emigrated to the US in the early 1950's and married her future husband Hans Muhlbach in Jan of 1960. They lived in New York City until 1992 when they moved to Utah to be closer to their only son John and his family. Hans preceded her in death, passing in Sept of 1994. The family moved to Washington state in 1996 settling in the Bellingham area.
Hertha was a master gardener whose landscaping abilities were the envy of any neighborhood she lived in. She loved cooking for her family and friends. Always eager to help others, she was deeply appreciated by those whose lives she touched. As a member of a local quilting group, they made blankets and clothing for those less fortunate in the area. She loved spending hours putting together puzzles and once did a 7500-piece view of the New York City skyline. Of course, her family was always there to fix the misplaced pieces . She also enjoyed watching the New York Mets and Seattle Mariner play ball.
She leaves behind her son John and daughter in law Danielle. Her grandchildren Christopher and Samantha, her husband Erik and great grandsons Beckett and Levi. She also leaves behind two sisters and their families. She was a beloved aunt, cousin and friend to many.
We were fortunate that her final day was spent peacefully with family around reminiscing about the past and what the future may hold for her grandchildren and great grandsons. Our family is relieved that she is no longer in pain and does not have to endure life in this broken world. We rejoice in the thought that she is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her family and friends. We miss you mom and look forward to the day when we are all reunited.
