Harold Eugene Denton (Harry), age 68, of Port Orchard, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023, in Gig Harbor, WA. Harry was born on May 25, 1955, in Spokane, WA, to his parents Albert Everett and Dorothy Margaret (Kiddoo) Denton. 

 

Harry was preceded in death by his father Albert; and is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Regan) Denton; sons, Jason (Paula) and Jared (Lori); grandchildren, December, Isaac, Camryn, Isabel (Shane), Ty, Justin, Sara Beth, Apple, and John David (little Hal); great-grandchildren Leticia and Alex; his brother, Everett (Kristi) Denton; his mother, Dorothy Margaret Denton and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of humor, love, and dedication will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

 

Harry's sense of humor was legendary, as he was the inventor of the beloved "dad" joke, always bringing laughter to those around him. He was an adoring husband and treated his wife Mary like a princess. Harry made every effort to show up for his children including moving several times to be closer. He was a faithful Oregon Ducks fan and spent years creating his "Duck Pond". 

 

Harry was a proud member of the Local 86 Iron Workers Union. He dedicated his career to this profession, where he showcased his toughness and resilience, matching the strength of the iron he worked with.

 

In retirement, He loved spending time with his grandchildren and pursuing his many hobbies. He enjoyed constructing furniture, playing golf, and going camping. Harry's passion for these activities brought him great fulfillment and joy. 


 In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the ALS Association.
