Gloria Anne McDonald

Gloria Anne McDonald (DeGroot). Born 18 June 1937 Snohomish Washington died 1 February 2018 Ferndale Washington. Daughter of Casey Leonard & Evelyn Lucille (Olmstead) DeGroot. Gloria was the first grandchild to Bert and Anna Olmstead and William and Anna DeGroot (Lankhaar).  Pre deceased by sister Eleanor(Babe), husbands David Burns, Lonnie Briley, & Bill McDonald.  Survived by siblings Neil, Lu, Bill, Dave & Donna. Children Patricia, Cathy, John, & Sean. Grandchildren Jon, Jason, Crystal, Addy, Josh and Liam. Great grandchildren Aliya, Nathanial, Kalel.  Special namesake & special great-great nephew Hunter Allan McDonald Spencer.  And her special friends the “Monday morning coffee gals” !  Her career included working at Western Washington University in the Attorney General’s office, Bellingham Prosecutor office and directly for Attorney Les Lee’s Law practice.  Gloria loved to travel and those trips included:  Europe, China, Australia, Japan, New Zealand as well as many States in the US and Canada in her RV. She also loved her dogs!  She was a charter member and huge supporter of Harborview Lion club and a regular attendee and supporter of her church. Over the years she was a volunteer for Bellingham senior center, Bellingham Police RSVP and she delivered medications for Hospice. She was a giving person and supported many charities which includes the Bill McDonald Scholarship Fund at Western Washington University.  Special thank you to her sister Lu and niece Kelcee for their love and care!  A celebration of life service will be held at Cornerstone Community Church located at 5732 Olsen Rd.
