Glen L. Steinbach, Sr, age 89, passed away May 11, 2025 in Bellingham, WA.
He is survived by his children: Sharon L. Steinbach, Lyndia Shoup, Gregory Steinbach, Sharon E. Steinbach, Kenneth Steinbach, Michelle Gates, Margaret (Peter) Gegenhuber; daughter in law, Leanne Steinbach. Siblings: Randy Steinbach and Dixie Steinbach. Sister in laws: Elaine Steinbach and Lori Steinbach, Joanne’s children,17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents Jesse & Eleanor Steinbach, step mother, Alene Nord, sister, Hazel Soderbock, brother, Jesse “Ron” Steinbach, brother, Jerry Steinbach, wife Carol Steinbach, wife, Joanne Steinbach. He is also preceded in death by his sons: Glen, Jr., Jerald. Glen was born on November 15, 1935 in Bellingham, Washington. He graduated from Blaine High School in 1954 and joined the United States Air Force in 1955, where he would go on to make the military his career and retired in 1977. After retiring, Glen moved to Ferndale, Washington where he worked doing some carpentry, substitute bus driving, part owner of Big Scoop restaurant, Great Western Lumber, United States Postal Service, United States Customs and also working for Boeing.
Glen was known for his storytelling and ability to make conversation with everyone. He loved nothing more than gathering with his family and friends.
A graveside service with Military honors will be held June 27, 2025, at Enterprise Cemetery, 7041 Vista Drive, Ferndale, WA 98248 at 11:00am. All family and friends are invited to honor Glen’s life.
