Gerald “Jerry” H. Hansen, age 80, of Everson, WA passed away at his home Wednesday, December 1, 2021, surrounded by his close friends. Jerry was born January 7, 1941, in

Bellingham, WA to parents Antonius “Tony” Joseph Hansen and Florence May (Nichols). One of Jerry’s greatest joys was traveling to Germany to visit close friends. Jerry also had a daily morning routine of meeting friends at local coffee shops. Along with spending as much time as he could with his beloved Labrador Retriever, Max, Jerry was well known for his amazing cooking skills. You would often find him hosting big delicious meals and having guests over to enjoy it. Jerry took pride in working in his yard and maintaining his beautiful flower beds. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law; he is survived by his sister Sonia Smith of Bellingham, WA; nieces Cheryl and her husband Bruce Kemp of Buckley, WA, and Jamie Smith and her significant other Steve of Marysville, WA; nephew Rob Smith and his wife Cary of Bellingham, WA, and many close friends. A graveside service will be held for Jerry at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 7, 2022, at Hopewell Cemetery at the corner of Hopewell and Oat Coles Roads in Everson. The graveside will be followed by a 12:30 PM memorial service at Valley Church, 904 Nooksack Road, Everson, WA 98247 with Pastor Kyle Hopkins officiating.
