Georgine Teter, age 92, of Bellingham passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 at her home in Bellingham. Mom was born in Twin Falls, Idaho, on June 24, 1929, during the depression. She spent a good deal of her youth living in Arizona. After her marriage she lived in several towns in the Northwest and had four children, Margaret, Mary Catherine, Martha and James. Georgine continued her education and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics at the University of Puget Sound. She did some student and substitute teaching and then accepted a position as Executive Housekeeper for Tacoma General Hospital. There she was in charge of staff and cleanliness including patient and operating rooms. Georgine continued this occupation in several hospitals in the northwest, California and Texas. She then remarried and started a janitorial business with her husband until he passed away. Mom was an avid quilter, exhibiting her work and valuing her quilter friends! She leaves behind a brother Brian Wallace and sister, Becky Boren and many Arizona relatives. She had seven grandchildren, Jamie, Rosemary, Jaden, Ryan, Nicholas, Lantz, Alex, her son-in-law Richard Taber and one great grandson Daniel. A celebration of life will be held on her birthday June 24th, further details to be provided at a later date.
