Gaylon P. (Buck) Rasmussen, age 74, of Bellingham passed away Friday, May 3, 2024 in Bellingham. He was born May 17, 1949 in Bellingham to parents August and Florence (Paine) Rasmussen. Buck graduated from Lynden High School and attended Bellingham Technical College for Auto Body Repair. He was employed by Louws Truss Incorporated and Whatcom Builders. His passion was his farm.  Buck loved raising cattle, making hay and anything to do with agriculture in general.  He was also an avid deer hunter and being in the outdoors. Buck was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jennifer Salazar; his brother, Stephen Rasmussen, and his niece, Lisa Salazar. Buck is survived by his sisters, Debbie Brassfield and Theresa Hickey his nieces and nephews, Lori, Dori, Matt, Jodi, Leah, Ali and Ian and families. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, May 17, 2024 at Lakeside Cemetery, 2402 Pangborn Rd., Lynden, WA 98264, followed by a Birthday Party Fellowship at the Hannegan VFW, 7011 Hannegan Rd. Lynden, WA 98264. His family wishes to thank the staff at Julies Bayview Adult Family Home for the loving care given Buck. In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial contributions be made to either Hospice of Whatcom County or Meridian High School FFA program.
