Garry N. Davis

Garry Nelson Davis of Lynden Washington, went to be with the Lord at the age of 58 on December 20th, 2013.

Garry was born in Arlington, Washington on October 21, 1955 to Troy and Minnie Davis of Darrington, Washington where he grew up. After graduating from Darrington high School, he attended Northwest Bible College and finished his bachelor's degree in music education at Western Washington University. He met his wife Anne while attending and leading the music ministry at Hillcrest Chapel. They were married June 22, 1991.

He was survived by his wife, Anne Marie Davis, his mother Minnie Davis, his sister Diane Campbell, his son Marine Sgt. Zachary Jerome Davis(27) and his wife and children Jamie(25), Keylee(4), and Dustin Davis(3 months), Garry's other son Cpl. Tyler Dalton Davis(25), and his daughter DonnaJoy Christine Davis(21).

Garry was a very loving and caring man. He loved his Savior, Jesus, more that life its' self and anyone who had the privilege to know him knew that fact. He was always reading books upon books about the life of Jesus, God's word, and the eternal life waiting for him.

He was also greatly blessed with the gift of music and was the most talented piano player. Whether he was playing for a wedding ceremony, a memorial service, with the worship team on Sunday mornings, or there just happened to be a piano in the room and a song just happened to pop into his head, he touched so many lives around him with his incredible talent and the humble heart behind it. He passed on his gifts to his children; Zach with his love for guitar, Ty with his passion for both guitar and song, and D.J. with song as well as the guitar and the piano. Jesus, music, and family were the epitome of his life, the legacy he leaves, and dreams he had for others.

In place of flowers and gifts, the family asks that funds be made directly to them or the church to help cope with their loss because they were not financially prepared to lose Garry so suddenly.

A service will be held for Garry at Grace Community Church, 1815 Cornwall Avenue, in Bellingham Washington at 1 o'clock in the afternoon on Monday, December 30th, 2013.
