Faye E. Kornemann

Faye E. Kornemann (Moore) passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 25, 2025 in Bellingham, WA; the city where she was born on Aug 21, 1944 to parents Walter and Irma (Smith) Kornemann. She was 80 years old.

Faye's life began and ended in Whatcom County; a place that remained a constant throughout her life. She married Alan H. Moore (USN Ret) of Brockton, MA; he preceded her in death in 2023. They had two daughters, Cheryl (Moore) Jandzinski and Amy (Moore) Markley; both graduates of Nooksack Valley High School.

Faye is preceded in death by sisters, Doris Boice, LaDonna Harvey, Doreen Harvey, Barbara (Bubbles) Harvey, Myrna Van Roekel; brothers, John and Glenn Ledoschuck, and Gayle, Gary, and Wayne Kornemann. She is survived by her sister Shirley (Kornemann) Strotz-Lagerwey; daughters, Cheryl Jandzinski (Gary) and Amy Markley; grandson Seth Markley, granddaughter, Karollen Kormos (Noel) and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She lived in various group homes in Bellingham. In 2007 she found her incredible caregiving family at Avilla Care (Columbia Place) in Bellingham, WA., where she resided until her death. Our mother was extremely loved by all that knew her, especially her 'family' at Avilla Care. Everyone was 'family' to our dear mom, whether it be a brother, sister, son or daughter. Those who knew her well remember her as part of the fabric of the community she called 'home.' We will always remember her kindness, beautiful smile and the immense love she had for others. We will remember all the shenanigans and funny stories she would tell whether they were true or not...didn't matter to her or to us. 'Naughty Grandma' is in a better place now; her body and mind are whole again. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025, 2:00 PM, Rick and Beth Strotz's home 5901 Lind Rd, Everson, WA 98247. Inurnment will be placed next to her parents Walter and Irma and brother Wayne Kornemann at Lakeside Cemetery Lynden, WA.
