Ernst Beilner

Ernst Beilner, the Ferndale Baker, passed away on January 29, 2017.  He passed with his 5 kids and many of his grandkids caring for him. Ernst was born in Gross Olbersdorf, Czechoslovakia in 1930 and after living through many WW II hardships, immigrated to the U.S. with his wife, Helga and three daughters, Petra, Gabriele, and Brigitte in 1966. Once they settled in Bellingham, they had two sons—Michael and Daniel.  The family moved to Ferndale in 1973 when they took over the Ferndale Bakery.  The Bakery was under Beilner management for 29 year.  Ernst kept all his kids busy in the family business, and his children were blessed with a time in their lives to work with their father and mother under their loving tutelage. The town of Ferndale was also very blessed with a place to buy yummy things and also have coffee with their friends and families. All of Ferndale mourned when the bakery closed down in 2003. A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at Whatcom New Life Assembly, 2290 Main Street, Ferndale, WA 98248 with Pastor Andy Fox officiating.
