Another proud member of the Greatest Generation, Earl L. Ramussen, has passed from this earth. Beloved husband of Margaret, father of Donna Duff (John) Gainesville FL; Gary Rasmussen and Mark Rasmussen, both of Bellingham; Rick Ramussen (Karen) of Ocean Shores, WA; grandfather of eight, great grandfather of 11. Earl was born in North Platte, NE, he had a twin brother, Nate, who preceded him in death. Earl joined the Navy at age 17 after Pearl Harbor and was aboard the USS Missouri when the Japanese surrendered. Earl and Margaret met in Bellingham and married two months later on December 11, 1948 and have been happily married for 65 years. He was employed by Puget Sound Truck Lines for 33 years.
We will honor Earl's request that there be no services. Our family would like to extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the staff and nurses at Whatcom Hospice House for their kindness and loving care of our dear husband and father.
