Douglas Frank Dalry, age 83, of Blaine passed away peacefully at his home, after a good meal, lots of laughs, and an abundance of love, on July 21, 2025.
Doug was born in Renton, WA on March 25, 1942 to William (Frank) and Constance (Connie) Dalry (Hanson). Doug graduated from Renton High School before attending Central Washington University. He married his high school sweetheart, Joy Bergman, on September 2, 1961. The two of them welcomed their first child, Jodi, the following year. They would go on to welcome three more children: Darin in 1965, Jill in 1967, and Jayme in 1970. Doug and Joy moved their family to Blaine in 1975 and bought a 10 acre farm where they raised their kids, some animals, and had the time of their lives!
Doug was in the car business for over 60 years, never truly retiring from what he loved. Nothing could stop him from securing a good deal—not even a PGA tour or Formula 1 race.
In 1990, Doug and Joy moved into their dream home that they built together in Birch Bay Village. Over the years, their home would be the center for family; celebrating holidays and birthdays, hosting dinners where anyone was welcome, and making many memories. You could always follow the sound of Doug’s booming laugh to find him cooking in the kitchen or running the grill.
Doug is survived by his brother Mike (Terry) Dalry; his four children, Jodi (John) Lefler, Darin (Shiela) Dalry, Jill (Scott) Campbell, and Jayme (Don) Swansen; his grandchildren, Carli (Tim) Collins, Dani (AJ) Pieczynski, Aaron (Alex) Bedow, Caidan Lefler, and Spencer and Conner Dalry; and his great grandchildren, Annabelle, Sawyer, Amelia, Lillian, and Daisy. Waiting for him at the pearly gates were his brother Kristen, his parents, and most importantly his wife Joy, who he missed dearly. There is no doubt that she met him with his favorite cocktail in hand and asked him, “What the hell took so you long?”
The family invites you to join in his celebration of life at the Birch Bay Village Clubhouse on Saturday, August 9th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Doug’s name to the Lion’s Club, who are truly doing God’s work helping those in need.
